The Challenge

Insects, fungi, molds and bacteria are present in our surroundings and are considered pests when they cause damage.

The global pesticide consumption is more than 4 million tons a year, but only 0.1% of the applied pesticides reach the target pest. The other 99.9% pollute the environment, enter the food cycle and damage human health.

Multinational corporates invest more than 12 years and 300 M$ to develop a new crop protection product. This process involves researching new molecules, developing the product and its formulations and a long registration process.

We need more effective sustainable solutions and faster. Much faster.

Technology

Generally, chemical products are made of two significant parts.

  • Active compounds – the molecules are actually doing the work.
  • Delivery system – the rest of the formulation is supporting the product and active compounds.

 

Today, each company develops a delivery system for each product. Besides high operational cost, this approach causes a long and expensive procedure of research, development and registration process.

We have developed a universal delivery system to replace the need to develop and to reinvent new delivery systems for each product. It is designed to control the evaporation of hundreds of bioactive compounds for extended period of time.

Platyform: Formulation as a Platform

Platyform is a ready-to-use gel designed to be mixed with bioactive volatile terpenes, such as essential oils, pheromones and other aromatic molecules. As a platform, our gel combines both physical and chemical control release mechanisms for prolonged evaporation.

Platyform features:

  • Long lasting control release of volatile active ingredients.
  • Ready to use with hundreds of existing compounds without changing the base.
  • Fully biodegredable and biobased with no toxic waste or microplastic.
  • Safe for humas, mammals and fish. Can be used in urban environment.
